History

The Original 300

Gates Crossing sits on land rich in history that predates Texas statehood. The land was originally settled by Amos Gates, one of the “Old Three Hundred” who were among the first to settle in Texas in the 1800's. Today, Gates and his family rest in the historic Gates-Perry Cemetery at the center of the Gates Crossing property. For those who may be looking for a piece of Texas history, Gates Crossing is deep in the heart of the birthplace of Texas independence.
